Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String.

These are definitely a few of my favorite things.
There is nothing I love more than receiving real mail (ok, maybe blog comments…).
This year, I was lucky enough to receive a few awesome things in the mail!
It started out with this a couple weeks ago:
(PS. Sorry for all the dark pictures!  What are ya gonna do when the mail doesn’t come till 5:45 any it’s dark by then?! :))
Who doesn’t love getting anything with the word “Anthropologie” on it in the mail?!
Look how adorably they packaged this member card and birthday discount card!
I mean, would you expect any less though?
Seriously cute.  I love the little watch.  I think I found my new bookmark. πŸ™‚
Then, a few days ago, I received an awesome package from my dear sister in law and brother (but you know my SIL did the packaging! ;)):
My SIL always finds the best packaging/gift wrap.  She should make a living off of gift wrapping for other people.  I’m not kidding.  I almost don’t want to unwrap what she gives me because the packing is too pretty.
Inside was a much appreciated gift!  Fabric Quarters in my house colors and a gift card to Jo-Ann’s!  Whoo!  Inside the card, she informed me that this was to help my Pinterest addiction… πŸ™‚
And then, as if that wasn’t enough, today I received probably the most incredibly thoughtful and happy birthday package I have ever opened!!
Remember when I introduced you to my real life bloggy friends, and I mentioned how some of my bloggy friends live in other states and I haven’t ever met them, but I feel like I know them really well and feel like they’re close friends?  Well, Amanda was one of the few friends that I mentioned that I haven’t ever met, but I swear we’re soul sisters.  And tonight, I received the most lovely, happiest package ever, straight from that crafty lady’s hands.
All I could say as I pulled it out of my mailbox was “oh. my. word.”  What a beautiful package!

I loved all the notes on the sides of the box!

  I especially loved this note… πŸ™‚
I was beaming with joy, before I could even open the package.
Once opened, I was even more tickled pink. πŸ˜‰
(What, too cheesy?)
In a house of testosterone, I was so thrilled to get an overly girly, pinky, flowery, butterfly-y and HAPPY package!
(Pardon the sideways-ness).  These little roses?  They’re earrings.  All 5 pairs of them!!  I know there’s no way she knows this – but my little white rose earrings are my favorite…now I have 5 more. πŸ™‚  Over joyed.

All the things necessary to make a birthday FUN! πŸ™‚
Bubbles (which will be awesome in Zeek’s new bubble machine he got for his birthday!), a wash mitten and an awesome touch/sensory book.
Clearly Zeek loved the gift as much as I did!
He is ALL over that book.  Kid loves it.
I am so blessed.  How did I get so lucky to meet such an awesome bloggy friend?!
This package totally made my day.
It made my week.
I was feeling a little blue about my birthday, to be honest.
I was trying hard to make peace about Ezekiel’s birthday being the day before mine, and my birthday being sort of a wash now.  I really, really, tried to put on my big girl panty’s and make myself feel like it wasn’t a big deal if I didn’t have much of a birthday celebration.  If the little plans that I DID want to do, didn’t even come to fruition.  If I didn’t get my own cake.  If I didn’t get my own party.  I AM a big girl, and for the most part, those things don’t matter.
But this sure made it feel a whole lot better. πŸ™‚
Thanks Amanda.  You’re a rock star.
