What a fun weekend we’ve been having!
And it’s not even over yet.
Then Friday, Skyler didn’t have clinicals and since it was another gorgeous 64 degree, sunny day, we decided to take Zeek to the A.C. Gilbert House
(a children’s museum/park here in Salem).
And not only just take him for the afternoon – but we bought a membership so Zeek and I have somewhere to go and play anytime we want, as he’s getting increasingly more and more curious and loves to explore.

It was only $70 for the entire year for all three of us and it’s membership gets you into several other children’s museums for free – including OMSI
(which, if you’re not from Oregon, is like the COOLEST museum ever.)

We’ll take him to OMSI another day soon. 🙂
Back to the Gilbert House!
Zeek and I in the oversized rocking chair!
(Ignore the stomach bulge. CLEARLY, Skyler just got a bad angle. ;))
The bubble room!!
I love this picture of him looking up at the bubble wall!
Opposite sides of the bubble wall. Skyler was blowing a huge bubble towards me…
So I blew back!
And the wall exploded. 🙂
He ain’t a baby anymore!! SUCH a little boy!
Playing with dad in the “Oregon Room”.
Then we ventured outside to play in another HUGE, GIGANTIC wooden castle!
It was amazing. And a little intimidating, really.
And I might be an overprotective mom until my kids are like 7 and I won’t have to worry as much about them tripping and falling down the parts where there’s ladder chutes! 😉
(Told you this kid loves sliding!)
We had a great time at the Gilbert House and are looking forward to many returns. 🙂
THEN, Saturday, it was back to crummy weather again – but that was okay with us! We were already planning on heading to the mountains for some snow playtime!
I had bought Zeek some snow bibs and a jacket and I wanted to make sure we took him to play in the snow and get some use out of them. 🙂 BUT, I wanted to wait until he was walking. He has been walking now for almost 2 weeks and is really very good at it now. He just walks and walks and walks all around our house. No destination – just enjoying the journey. 🙂
We stopped in at Bi-Mart, bought a few sleds, and then headed out towards HooDoo.
Little Brave Boy coming down the big hill all by himself!
He LOVED sledding!
About to go on the family toboggan!
Resting and making snowballs. 🙂
And now, after three days of non-stop fun, I’m pooped. And my house is a mess.
Little one is sleeping right now, so I’d better get at it. 😉
Oh and P.S.
It occurred to me the other day at the Gilbert House that this boy:
Is looking a lot like this boy:
Cute little Porky from Little Rascals. 🙂
He was always my favorite.
