I’ve had a few friends ask me recently what some of my favorite blogs to read are.
I’ve already introduced you to my real life blog friends.
I can spend way too much time checking out other blogs and probably have about a hundred or more on my blogger reading list. But I definitely have my favorites that I check for updates, even when I don’t have time to just sit and scroll through everything posted lately.
Here are my faves.
Craft Gawker is a collection of popular craft tutorials from all over. Fun to surf around.
Think of it as Pinterest, before Pinterest came to be. 🙂 (Without the “pinning” to your own boards, that is!)
Design*Sponge is like the mother of craft blogs. Seriously.
I just found IC a few months ago when I was making presents for my brother and sister in law for Christmas. She made the original Iphone App Magnets that I copied. She posts the coolest stuff!
Knock Off Decor is another collaboration website where they post different projects that other people have done – in this case, “knock off’s” of products from Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Ballard Designs, etc. Very cool idea’s on here – and most of the tutorials are surprisingly easy! It’s fun to see what people make and how similar to the original it looks – and to see how much of a cost difference it is to make it verses buy it!
Oh, Little Birdie Secrets. I hold this blog near and dear to my heart. This is the blog that I first read (and became obsessed with) that encouraged me to start my own blog. I somehow stumbled upon it (before I even knew about blogs really or knew anything about the entire blog universe that exists out there) and was instantly hooked. I found it just after my gall bladder removal surgery two years ago, and sat on the couch for a week straight reading post after post from their archive.
Shanty 2 Chic is another blog that I found only a couple of months ago, and wish I had found long ago! Everything on there is just beautiful and totally my style of decor. Plus, the blog is just pretty to look at. 😉
Twice Lovely is another good one – mostly of furniture redo’s. Growing up with a father who loved picking up “junky” wood furniture pieces from garage sales and turning them into gorgeous pieces, this blog hit close to home! I love seeing the transformations!
These are the blogs that I check daily, if I can’t just breeze through my blogger reading list.
These are the “friends” that I have online – the people that share real life.
They share their heart, their mama stories, what’s going on in life.
It’s like having little reality tv series’ in written format. I love them. 🙂
This is Amanda. I’ve mentioned her a few times before. She was one of the first blogs that I followed and without knowing it – showed me the ropes of blogging. I haven’t ever met her, but this girl is like my soul sister. I feel like she’s a dear friend that I might have ridden the bus home with in elementary school. She has a total heart of gold and is an amazing writer. For selfish reasons, I wish she would blog more often, but she is busy with a little one (a week younger than Zeek!) and writing her first novel which I cannot wait till it comes out!
(P.S. Hi Amanda! I love your new blog header!!)
Katie is a stay at home mom/pilot’s wife, mom to daughter Ellie (who I can’t believe is 2 and half, because I first “met” her when she was 6 months old!) and son Foster (currently in utero).
Katie is hi-lar-ious! She is one of the people who’s posts I look forward to reading most because she is just so funny!
Little Lucy Lu is really just a combination of everything good – crafts, recipes and mom stories. Bec writes about life in the country with her husband and sweet daughter Lucy! Bec is the one that I mentioned that I discovered her blog on some big craft blog where hundreds of people link up their projects (which I normally never spend much time going through) and I just happened to click on the project she posted of her ladder drying rack. After some reading, I realized she lives in the next small town over from me. Small world. 🙂
Laura at Bits of Splendor has another one of those perfect mixes blogs – crafts/decor and real life. I love this lady’s heart. She speaks with such truth and love. I just “met” her a couple months ago, but she is already one of my favorites!
This blog is a total crack up. And I so relate. This is like the comic book of parenting.
An awesome stress reliever. 😉
I’m a bit of a birth story junkie. This blog is full of good ones! (They even posted my birth story!) She also posts just interesting parenting articles.
And there you have it friends. Some of my favorite blog reads. 🙂
I hope this leaves you with some good reading material!
What are some of your favorite blogs?
Do you have any “must check for new posts every day!” blogs?
