Snow. Because Oregon is Awesome.

Every Monday, Skyler has a 12 hour clinical at the hospital.  Every Thursday, he has a test.  The days between, he has lectures and study groups.  Saturday and Sunday are usually the longest study dates.

This Sunday, he opted to have a family day instead.  πŸ™‚

We have been talking about how much we love Oregon lately.  One of my best friends, Christine, and her family moved to Oregon from Texas a few years ago and are always so good at reminding us how incredible this state and the great Northwest are.  They drive all the way up to Mt. Saint Helens in Washington just for the day.  Or to Hood River just to pick apples.  They talk about how beautiful it is just to drive from Silverton to Salem and pass all the beautiful farms.  I try to always remember their attitude about our state and really just enjoy and have adventures here.

So Sunday, we discussed three options: going to the beach, going hiking at a waterfall or going to the mountain to play in the snow.  Let me just pause a moment and say that I LOVE how much those were three legit and reasonable options for us for the day.  How cool.

We (obviously) opted for the snow!!  This past summer I found a small pair of skis for only $5 so I bought them, knowing Skyler wanted to take Zeek skiing this winter (at least to show him how to do it a little bit).  They are ghetto, but they work for a 2 year old. πŸ˜‰

We all had a great time at the mountain and even Asher had his first turn sledding up at HooDoo.

This is a common face Zeek has been making lately… Not sure where it originated. πŸ™‚

There we go… a little more normal. πŸ™‚

On the drive home, my head started pounding and I got super nauseous (like, Asher and I had to lay down in the car while Skyler and Zeek ate dinner in a restaurant kind of nauseous) and I’ve now had a stomach bug for the last two days…

But man.  That was a good family day.  πŸ™‚

Can’t wait for Skyler to be done with school!!  The end seems SO close now, it’s crazy!  Plus, we’ll have an awesome spring break – we’re heading down to stay in a beautiful house at Tahoe in CA with my in-law’s!  More snow time, games (Farkle, anyone!?), eating, LOTS of eating, hopefully a casino adventure with my mother in law and… just a great time enjoying the family and relaxing before ONE FINAL TERM OF NURSING SCHOOL!!!

I can barely contain myself.
