The Most Relaxing Vacation Ever. {South Lake Tahoe}

After our 2 day stay in Reno, we drove to South Lake Tahoe to stay for the remainder of the week with my in-law’s at a rental house.

It was a perfect vacation.  Skyler, his dad and brother went skiing at Heavenly for 2 days, which was 7 minutes down the road from us.  My mother in law, Zeek, Asher and I were just house bums all morning (my favorite lazy way to spend the morning!), sipping coffee, chatting, going on walks and even a jog (gasp!), playing at the nearby school playground, and watching cartoons.  The boys would return just about the time that Zeek was up from his nap and my mother in law and I were showered and ready to leave the house and do something!  The days they boys didn’t go skiing, they went off to a nearby frisbee golf course and took Zeek to make him walk and wear him out.  πŸ™‚ Seriously a great schedule.  I loved not having to be ready to do anything until afternoon!  THAT’s the way a vacation should be! πŸ˜‰

The boys making us all breakfast one morning.

Zeek’s morning usual: jammies and a cartoon.  πŸ™‚

One of the days, Skyler’s parents took us all on a carriage ride from the main street down to Tahoe Lake.  It was fun and Zeek loved the horse!

Of course, we enjoyed our time at the casino’s too!  We played with Zeek in the arcade in one of the casino’s and Skyler just had to try this speed of light game where you try to hit the buttons that randomly light up as fast as you can.  And of course had to make it a competition between his dad and brother too!  Skyler was the fastest with a score of 481, Logan 2nd with 342ish and Dad 3rd with 250ish.  I’m not sure if I am proud of Skyler or not.  He sure looked ridiculous playing it! πŸ˜‰

We spent some sunny afternoons drawing with sidewalk chalk…

And had a bomb-diggity dinner at the buffet in the Harrah’s casino on the 18th floor, with great views of the mountains and Lake Tahoe.  (Of course, I think all buffets are the bomb.  I’m easy to please!)  πŸ™‚

We could see the snow and rain start to roll into town as we were eating dinner.
On the way home, Zeek was the one to spot the rainbow.  It was the most magnificent rainbow I have ever seen!  It was a PERFECT rainbow – you could see the whole thing and it was a “short” rainbow, so it looked like it was just within walking distance to both ends.  It was the most vibrant one I have ever seen, plus had a double one behind it!  This was the best photo I could get…

It was the BEST vacation.  Most of my vacations are SO adventurous.  This was awesome to just have a relaxing vacation this time.  πŸ™‚

And THAT was how we spent our spring break!

How was yours?
